KUALA LUMPUR – A leading e-Commerce platform for shopping, Shopee, noted a 32 per cent increase in the volume of Malaysians searching for items throughout the Chinese New Year period.
“ This is a good sign, and is in line with the government’s initiative to drive forward e-commerce in Malaysia,” the online shopping platform said in a statement today.
Since the launch of the Wang with Shopee campaign on Jan 15, which offered discounts of up to 90 per cent and contest prizes worth more than RM1 million, many more Malaysians turned to Shopee to shop for Chinese New Year necessities.
The Wang with Shopee campaign would end on Feb 25, 2018.
Shopee provided users a fast, convenient and secure platform to shop on, with free shipping across Malaysia.
The most popular Chinese New Year search categories ranged from women’s clothing to mobile & gadgets while popular purchases, among others, were women’s shoes, baby clothings and health and beauty items. – BERNAMA
