TAWAU – The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) Tawau branch office seized 7,000 litres of subsidised fuel worth RM14,840 from a warehouse near Tawau Jetty here, yesterday.
Tawau KPDNKK Chief Peter J.Berinus Agang said the raid was conducted at 1.15 pm after three days of intelligence gathering.
He said during the raid, a 33-year-old local man was in the premises and was arrested to facilitate investigation.
“Further investigation at the warehouse revealed that 7,000 litres of petrol had been stored in drums,” he said in a statement here, today.
He added that the case was being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 and further investigation was being carried out to determine the mastermind behind the syndicate. – BERNAMA
