BACHOK – Some 3,400 people in Kelantan have been selected to perform the Haj pilgrimage this year, with the first batch to leave for Makkah on July 14.
Tabung Haji (TH) head of strategic management and transformation, Affan Mohd Nawi , said 60 per cent of the potential pilgrims were from Kota Bharu district.
“The last flight is scheduled on Aug 14,” he said at the opening of a Haj course by Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob here last night.
Affan said the pilgrims would leave from the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa here to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) before continuing with the flight to Saudi Arabia.
The first batch of the pilgrims is expected to return home on a flight schedule on Aug 27, with the last on Sept 24. – BERNAMA
