PETALING JAYA – DAP member Datuk Zaid Ibrahim has criticised the AirAsia X pilot who had urged the passengers to pray during the Perth-Kuala Lumpur flight which experienced technical issues for 90 minutes following take-off, yesterday.
In a series of Twitter remarks today, Zaid opined that the low-cost carrier should not endorse such actions by the pilot.
“AirAsia X pilot urged passengers to pray on distress Perth flight. Good lord, I much prefer pilot dont tell me death is imminent.
“Pilot has to give hope, and leave the rest to God and the passengers. If AirAsia are big into prayers; engage proper Iman and priest,” he tweeted.
The AirAsia X flight to the country was forced back to Australia on Sunday morning due to a technical problem, with one passenger saying the plane was “shaking like a washing machine”.
The Airbus A330 from Perth to Kuala Lumpur experienced problems about 90 minutes into the journey.
According to other reports from several Australian media several passengers had recorded the video of the aircraft described as “shaking like a washing machine”. while the pilot made the announcement asking everyone on board to pray on the way back to Perth.
The aircraft eventually landed safely, with Perth Airport reporting a “technical issue”. – The Sun
