KUALA LUMPUR – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi received a courtesy call from Japanese Minister of State, chairperson of The National Public Safety Commission, Eriko Yamatani.
The courtesy call, lasting about half an hour, was in conjunction with the 10th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) and related meetings here today. (Japan is an ASEAN dialogue partner.)
Eriko was accompanied by Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia Makio Miyagawa, Director General for International Affairs and Director General for Cyber Security of the National Police Agency, Yasuhiro Shirikawa, and Director of the International Affairs Division of the National Police Agency, Ko Shikata.
Ahmad Zahid hosted a closed-door official dinner after the courtesy call.
The four-day AMMTC and related meetings entered the second day today and will be followed by the Special Asean Ministerial Meeting on the Rise of Radicalisation and Violent Extremism on Friday. – BERNAMA
