KUCHING – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived here tonight for a two-day working visit to Sarawak.
The aircraft carrying Ahmad Zahid landed at Kuching International Airport at 7.50 pm and he was received by Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem.
Also present at the airport were Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu anak Numpang, state ministers, senior officials and community leaders.
At the welcoming ceremony, Ahmad Zahid also cut his birthday cake.
Tomorrow, the deputy prime minister is scheduled to visit the barrage here, before listening to a briefing on flood situation by the State Disaster Management Committee at Wisma Bapa Malaysia.
Several areas in Kuching, Samarahan and Serian were inundated by flash floods on Dec 31. – BERNAMA
