KUALA LUMPUR – Yuna’s newest album is almost 90 per cent complete and is expected to be released end of February next year.
The Malaysian singer-songwriter said the fifth United States (US) version album, would feature a different side of her character by emphasising the elements of urban, RnB, and hip hop which are more rhythmic and fresh.
“Even though there will be changes in terms of rhythm, I am confident that the listeners will know that the songs are from Yuna once they listen to it,” she told Bernama in an exclusive interview here recently.
However, she is still keeping the title of the album and number of songs available a secret.
For her fans in Malaysia, she said she was planning to come up with more humorous and teasing songs.
“In terms of cultural and music reception here, Malaysians prefer the songs that are close to their lives such as ‘Lelaki’, ‘Dan Sebenarnya’ and others,” she said.
Yuna had released four Malaysian albums, namely Yuna (2008), Decorate (2010), Terukir di Bintang (2012), and Material (2015). The four US albums were Decorate (2011), Yuna (2012), Sixth Street (2013) and Nocturnal (2013).
On Friday, she entertained 3,000 fans at ‘Yuna, Live In Malaysia’ concert at the Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, here.
The last time she held a concert here was at Istana Budaya in 2013. – BERNAMA
