KUANTAN – A youth, 17, sustained serious head injuries when hit by a train at Km 226.5, Tanjung Lipis near Kuala Lipis, yesterday morning.
G Nagaya of Kampung Tanjung Lipis was flung 20 metres when hit by Senandung Wau train at 6.15am which was heading for Tumpat, Kelantan from Kuala Lumpur.
Kuala Lipis police chief Supt Abdul Razak Hassan said Nagaya was rushed to Kuala Lipis Hospital and later transferred to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital, Temerloh.
Meawnhile, he said police had identified the man ran over by a train in Kampung Lanar yesterday as Indian national Sankar Sonaimuthu, 42.
Abdul Razak said his body was identified by his employer, S Sathias, 50, who revealed that his worker of 16 years had family problems back in India.
He said police confirmed the case as sudden death and ruled out foul play.
In the incident at 1.23am, Sankar Sonaimuthu was ran over by a train bound for Kuala Lumpur from Tumpat, Kelantan. – Bernama
