PARIT – A bomb, believed to be remnants of World War Two, was found in an oil palm plantation near Bandar Universiti in Seri Iskandar here, yesterday evening.
Central Perak police chief Supt Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said a member of the public, who discovered the 454-kilogramme (100 pounds) bomb at 5.30 pm, reported the matter to the police.
He said the bomb which was partially buried would be destroyed at the site by Bukit Aman and Perak Bomb Disposal Units, this evening.
“The bomb is expected to be detonated before Friday prayers and people in the immediate vicinity should take note as tremors may be felt within one kilometre radius,” he said when contacted here today. – BERNAMA
