SEREMBAN: The body of a 23-year-old female clerk from a golf club in Bahau was found in a lake on the course.
The body of S. Sumathi was found at 6.30am by divers of a search-and-rescue team from the Fire and Rescue Department, said Jempol Police chief Supt Noorzainy Mohd Noor.
He said police found Sumathi’s motorcycle, a pair of slippers and a knife by the lake on Monday night after her aunt reported that she had fallen into the lake at about 8pm.
A search on Monday night was called off as it was dark and the search resumed at 6.25am Tuesday, Noorzainy said.
“The body was found in the lake about 10 to 15m from where her slippers were found,” he said, adding that the body was taken to the Jempol Hospital.
The case has been classified as sudden death. – Bernama
