KUALA KANGSAR – A woman was among 37 illegal immigrants detained in two separate raids conducted at a construction site here early today.
Perak Immigration director Kamaluddin Ismail said in the three-hour Op Mega 2.0 conducted from midnight, immigration enforcement personnel detained an Indonesian woman and six Indonesian men, a Bangladeshi man and four Myanmar nationals during the first raid.
“in the second raid, 30 people were checked and 25 were detained, comprising nine Indonesian men and 16 Bangladeshi nationals,” he told reporters after the operation here today.
He said the illegals, aged between 30 and 60, were believed to have violated the Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963/39 and Section 6(1) of the immigration Act 1959/63.
All the detained illegals were brought to the Ipoh Immigration office for further action, he added. – BERNAMA
