KUALA BERANG – Water supply has returned to normal for the people of 51 areas in Hulu Terengganu following disruption on Jan 2 due to the leakage of a main.
The leaking main on the river bed had been repaired, said Syarikat Air Terengganu (SATU) Sdn Bhd chief executive Atemin Sulong.
The people could contact SATU staff on its Careline 1-300-882-111 or the Hulu Terengganu SATU office at 09-6811214 if they encountered any problem, he said when contacted by Bernama today.
The water supply disruption affected about 7,000 households from Jan 2 to 8.
A resident of Kampung Lubuk Pait, Noraini Abu Bakar, 56, said the people were grateful to SATU for having restored supply.
Over the past week, the people had to use river water for their daily needs, such as washing and cleaning, she said, adding that the people had, nevertheless, enjoyed gathering at the river in a carnival-like atmosphere. – BERNAMA
