KUALA TERENGGANU – The Vietnamese crew of two local fishing boats rescued 11 Indonesian nationals found in a boat stranded at sea about 30 nautical miles off the Terengganu beach this yesterday evening.
Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) district chief enforcer Captain Xavier Thevandas said the skippers of the two local fishing boats had informed the MMEA about the incident and they were now heading to the Chendering Fisheries Port here.
“Eleven Indonesian nationals were rescued, the actual number of the stranded victims, however, has yet to be ascertained due to communication problems,” he told Bernama.
He said the MMEA was prepared to deploy its assets at any time to help other stranded victims, if any. – Bernama
