KUALA LUMPUR – Very heavy rains and strong winds are expected to occur in several areas in Pahang and Johor until tomorrow.
In a statement issued today, the Malaysian Meteorological Department said the hazardous weather alert involved the districts of Pekan and Rompin in Pahang, as well as Segamat and Mersing in Johor.
Meanwhile, a bad-weather warning has been issued for Kuantan, Maran and Bera in Pahang, as well as Kluang, Johor following heavy rains and strong winds which are expected to continue until tomorrow.
According to the department, the weather alert follows heavy rains and strong winds which are expected during the same period in Terengganu, involving the districts of Kemaman and Dungun; Pahang (Jerantut, Temerloh and Bentong districts); Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat and Kota Tinggi); Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Jempol, Tampin, Kuala Pilah and Rembau) as well as Melaka.
Meanwhile, heavy rains and strong winds are expected in Sabah in Kudat division, Sandakan (Baluran District) and the West Coast (Kota Belud and Ranau Districts) from tomorrow until Wednesday. – BERNAMA
