KUALA LUMPUR – A vegetable trader at Pasar Borong Pusat Bandar Utara, Selayang was shot dead in front of a restaurant in Selayang here Friday night.
Sentul district police chief ACP R. Munusamy said in the incident around 11.40 pm, the victim, a local aged 57, was said to have just finished unloading his goods from a lorry.
“According to a witness, two men on motorcycle approached the victim before shooting at him twice.
“The suspects in black jackets fled after the incident,” he said when contacted by Bernama here Saturday.
Munusamy said police recovered two empty bullet casings at the scene. He said the victim was rushed to Selayang Hospital by his wife.
“The doctor confirmed that the victim passed away at 12.10 am,” he said, adding that the body was sent to the Forensic Department at Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post mortem.
“We are investigating the motive and have classified the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he said. – BERNAMA
