ALOR SETAR – Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) has launched a humanitarian aid mission for the flood victims in several states.
The UUM Humanitarian Aid for Flood Victims Phase 1 will collect donations in cash and kind for handing over to the flood victims, said vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak.
“Sixteen volunteers, comprising UUM staff, have been mobilised to help the flood victims in east coast as it enters the post-flood period,” he said when sending off the volunteers at UUM Tuesday.
Mohamed said the volunteers would bring along the aid in eight four-wheel-drive vehicles and two lorries. – BERNAMA
