Uttering Threat Is A Crime, As Plaster Ceiling Worker Discovers

KUALA LUMPUR: A plaster ceiling worker was ordered to pay a fine of RM1,800 in default one month’s imprisonment for threatening to harm his father with a gas tank and lighter.

J. Thevakumar, 33, admitted before magistrate Mohd Faizal Ismail to making the threat against his father S. Jai Raman, 66, a pensioner, to scare and terrify the victim.

He committed the offence over a misunderstanding about money, at a house at Desa Rejang People’s Housing Project, Taman Setapak Jaya here at 6pm on June 7.
