GEORGETOWN – Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has decided to postpone all lectures for today due to the worsening haze condition.
USM Registrar Siti Zubaidah A. Hamid said USM decided to suspend all teaching and learning activities (lectures and tutorials) as well as all outdoor activities scheduled on Oct 5 due to the deteriorating unhealthy air quality.
“The postponement involves its Penang main campus, engineering campus in Nibong Tebal and the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute in Bertam,” she said in a statement here today.
She said USM had taken the precaution following the thick haze and the Air Pollutant Index at USM approaching very unhealthy level at 189.
Nonetheless, she said all teaching and learning activities postponed would be replaced and rescheduled by the respective faculties. – BERNAMA
