‘UPSR Is Here To Stay’: Muhyiddin

PUTRAJAYA: The Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) will be maintained to measure the performance of students after six years in primary schooling.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the assessment could serve as the benchmark of the students before embarking into the secondary level education.

“We hope to produce better students with the capability of higher order thinking skills that could be continued at the secondary level,” he said after visiting the UPSR candidates at Sekolah Rendah Putrajaya Presint 16(2), here, today.

A total of 472, 853 candidates from 8,384 schools began their UPSR at 8,299 examination centres nationwide with Bahasa Melayu I (Pemahaman) paper at 8.15 am.MYNEWSHUB/NST
