JUSTIN BIEBER has reached a major milestone on social media.
The 23 years old pop star has reached 100 million followers Twitter, becoming only the second person to do so behind Katy Perry.
Twitter marked the occasion posting a video featuring some of Bieber’s most popular hashtags and wrote: ‘In each other’s company since Tweet number one. Congratulations @justinbieber on #100MBeliebers’
They also shared some fun facts about the star’s account including that there have been over two billion mentions of ‘Bieber/@JustinBieber’ on the platform.
Twitter also revealed that the world ‘Belieber’ has been retweeted 84 million times.
While Bieber has had a love-hate relationship with photo-sharing site Instagram- deactivating his account more than once – he’s been a loyal Twitter user throughout the years.
Perry, 32, meanwhile hit the milestone in June and now has 103 million followers.
Coming in third and fourth place are Taylor Swift with 85.5 million and Rihanna with 76.9 million.
Following the news Bieber retweeted Twitter’s congratulatory message.
Bieber fans can apparently get a special Justin emoji if they tweet the hashtag #100MBeilebers.
Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez is currently the most followed person on Instagram with 126 million.
On Monday fans were shocked to see her account hacked and naked pictures of Bieber posted.
The Texas-born beauty’s account was taken down swiftly and secured again before being activated. – Dailymail
