KUALA LUMPUR – UMNO Youth movement will raise several issues that are close to the young people in the country at the 2017 UMNO General Assembly (PAU), which will begin this Dec 5.
Its chief, Khairy Jamaluddin, said among the issues were on social agenda, mental health and ways to overcome the rising living cost.
“We raise these issues not only for PAU but also for our operation in preparing for the 14th General Election (GE14),” he said at a press conference after chairing the UMNO Youth Exco meeting, here yesterday.
Khairy, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, said by raising the issues, it would enlighten the young people on the matter, hence making them better understand the government’s aspiration, especially on the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) agenda.
He said the UMNO Youth would also cooperate with the Socio-Economy and Environment Research Institute (SERI) under the Prime Minister’s Department to resolve juvenile deliquency and other problems affecting the young people, such as drugs and truancy.
