KUALA LUMPUR – UMNO is perceived to be still weak in inculcating the spirit and philosophy of the party, especially among the young generation, said its Information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
As such, he said effort to intensify educational programme to raise the quality of its members and to educate them about the party’s policies and philosophy was what needed to be done in conjunction with the 70th anniversary celebration of UMNO.
“To move forward, training and educational programmes must be intensified,” he told reporters after apprearing in the Ruang Bicara programme on Bernama News Channel here tonight.
Annuar, however, reminded that the training and educational programmes should be continuous and not seasonal.
“UMNO members should build up their commitment to the party as it was initiated to rule, and not just to contest for election,” he said.
Meanwhile, responding to a question during the programme, Annuar said UMNO must be open to welcome back members who had left the party as differences in opinion were normal and should not affect the party. – BERNAMA
