KUALA LUMPUR: The Umno disciplinary board has commenced investigations into Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s speech at a public rally on Monday, says Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor (pic).
The Umno secretary general said that the investigation into Muhyddin’s speech, which was critical of Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, was underway.
“I have sent the probe to the disciplinary board and we have started an investigation paper. Now we wait for a while,” he said to reporters after the president’s address at the Umno General Assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) Thursday.
Muhyddin’s supporters had organised a public rally in Kampung Baru on Monday after the Umno deputy president anticipated that he would not be allowed to deliver a speech at the party’s annual general assembly this week.
Muhyddin’s speech there was criticised by Umno leaders who considered his actions as a breach of party discipline.
