SUNGAI PETANI – Two police corporals were ordered to be in remand for four days beginning today for alleged corruption, involving RM10,000.

The remand order against the two policemen, aged 34 and 37 years, was issued by Magistrate Adibah Husna Zainal Abidin to facilitate investigation under under Section 17(a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.

MACC, in a statement, said the two policemen, both stationed at the Kuala Muda District Police Headquarters, were detained at 2 pm yesterday for allegedly soliciting a bribe of RM10,000 from a complainant as an inducement for them to not take action against the latter for alleged illegal money-lending activities (Ah Long) last April 11. – BERNAMA
