Two Men Shot Dead While Sending Wedding Invitation Cards

SERDANG – Two men were shot dead while sending invitation cards in front of a coffee shop at Jalan Serdang Jaya 2/20, Seri Kembangan, here last night.

Serdang OCPD, ACP Razimi Ahmad said the incident at 9.20pm involved an insurance agent and a motor mechanic, both aged 25.

He said that both victims were on their way to deliver wedding invitations of the victim who worked as a mechanic but were blocked by a motorbike ridden by two individuals who were unknown to the victims.

One of the suspects fired five shots at the victims from close range.

“The first victim was shot twice in the chest while the second victim was shot in the abdomen,” he said when approached by reporters at the scene.

Razimi said the suspects, who wore black T-shirts, then fled and investigation at the scene of the incident found five bullet casings near the victims’ motorcycle.

The victims did not have any crime record.

“The suspects could not be identified because they were wearing helmets and covered their faces. The bodies were sent to the Serdang Hospital for post-mortem,” he said.

Meanwhile, a good friend of the victims, M. Murali, 27, said one of the victims was to get married on July 4, but it was not to be due to the incident.

“The two victims were friendly in nature and had many friends. I did not expect them to have enemies,” he said.

Another witness to the incident, a restaurant owner known as Chong, 37, said he heard several shots while busy looking after his customers.

“I saw two suspects making their escape after shooting at the victims but I could not see their faces as it was dark,” he said. – BERNAMA
