KUALA LUMPUR – Police have arrested two men following the murder of a man at a shopping mall in Kepong on Tuesday.
Sentul district police chief, ACP R. Munusamy said the first arrest was made shortly after the incident at noon on Tuesday in Jinjang while another man was arrested in Damansara about midnight on Wednesday.
According to him, the two suspects, in their 20s, are believed to have known the victim.
“We have also identified about five to eight local people believed to be involved in the murder,” he told reporters here today.
He said police who were still investigating the motive for the murder, denied the killing was motivated by jealousy following the deceased’s relationship with a woman.
The victim a local man was found with his face badly injured and covered in blood at a stairwell of the shopping mall.
In the meantime, Munusamy said police were hunting down four men, believed to be involved in a random shooting incident injuring a 34-year-old man and a two-year-old boy, both Myanmar nationals, at Pasar Borong Selayang, Off Jalan Ipoh here, on Jan 14.
“To date, two local men have been arrested and remanded until Jan 28 to facilitate investigations,” he said. – BERNAMA
