KUALA LUMPUR – Two people were killed in an accident involving four vehicles at Jalan Genting Kelang, coming from the Pahang Roundabout heading to Setapak here, early this morning.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Regulations staff officer DSP S. Markandan said in the 1.15am incident, the driver of a Nissan Grand Livina, Kok Yik Hong, 35, and a passenger Sam Ah Mooi, 60, died on the spot while two other passengers were seriously injured.
Kok’s wife Koo Siew Yen, 36, and son Thomas Kong Zhi Yuan, 5, were sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.
Markandan said the incident occurred when a Proton Wira heading from Setapak towards Pahang Roundabout was said to have lost control and rammed into the divider of the road.
“It also caused the Wira to hit the Nissan Grand Livina and a Perodua Myvi which were in the opposite lane.
“The Grand Livina was then hit by a truck that was in the middle lane,” he said in a statement today.
He said the driver of the Proton Wira as well as its two passengers suffered minor injuries, while the driver of the Perodua Myvi as well as the two people on board the lorry, were unharmed. – BERNAMA
