IPOH – Two flood relief centres in Klebang, Chemor here have been closed after floods receded at four settlements, and all 285 victims were allowed home.
Kinta District Civil Defence Department (JPAM) officer Muhammad Ammen Salleh said the centres at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Seri Klebang and Taman Klebang Selatan Community Hall were closed this morning.
“However, the registration of victims and complaints on damage to property are still going on at SK Seri Klebang. We hope they will be completed by 5pm,” he said when contacted by Bernama here, today.
He said the floods which inundated Kampung Seri Klebang Tambahan 2, Kampung Tersusun Klebang Selatan, Taman Bertuah and Klebang Bayu went down this morning.
JPAM provided 30 personnel for cleaning work in Chemor and Manjoi from 2pm today, he said.
The victims from 40 families from the Klebang area in Chemor were moved last night when the water rose after a bund on Sungai Klebang broke following heavy rain yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, 23 victims from six families were still at the Kampung Tengku Hussein Public Hall in Manjoi here after flood inundated Kampung Kuala Tanggung and Kampung Tengku Hussein Lama yesterday evening.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, with Manjoi State Assemblyman Mohamad Ziad Mohamed Zainal Abidin visited the affected villages and met the victims who were relocated in Manjoi and Chemor until 1.30am today. – BERNAMA
