PATTANI – Two local men were killed by stray bullets during an attack by a group of gunmen on a car driven by a security volunteer in the Khokpo district of Pattani today.
In the incident at 2.30 am (local time), a 30-year-old car passenger and a 32-year-old taxi driver were killed.
“The attack was aimed at security volunteer Muhammad Rari, 42, who was driving the car but the shots struck his friend who was sitting beside him,” said Chief Investigator of the Khokpo Police Station Capt Sukwat Chaimanee today.
The attack caused Muhammad Rari’s car to go out of control and hit a taxi travelling from the opposite direction.
