KUALA LUMPUR: A tourism programme, ‘Rural Tourism’ involving 12 villages will be introduced at the Rural Entrepreneur Carnival (KUD) 2015 at Precinct 3, Putrajaya from Sept 2 to 6.
Rural and Regional Development Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said under the rural tourism programme, packages would be offered, including lodging and various rural lifestyle activities for tourists to participate in.
He was speaking to reporters after the carnival’s pre-launch ceremony here Monday.
Also present were deputy ministers, Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub and Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi.
Ismail Sabry said the carnival involving entrepreneurs from seven business sectors was expected to attract over one million visitors and garner RM14 million in sales.
He added that KUD 2015 would help provide new business opportunities for rural entrepreneurs and at the same time, enable them to meet customers directly.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is expected to officiate the carnival at Precinct 3, Putrajaya.
