KUALA LUMPUR – Traffic flow on several major highways was reported to be still busy as at 10 pm due to the “reverse Aidiftri exodus” back the densely populated Klang Valley.
According to a spokesman for the North-South Highway (PLUS) Traffic Control Centre, traffic from the north was congested from Bukit Gantang to Bukit Berapit and Kuala Kangsar to the Sungai Perak rest centre.
He said traffic flow was also slow from Ipoh to the Simpang Pulai rest centre as well as from Tapah to Slim River while traffic from the south was reported to be smooth-flowing in both directions.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said the increase in the number of vehicles also caused traffic flow to be slow on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway from Bentong to Kota Tinggi and before the Gombak toll plaza heading towards Kuala Lumpur.
However, on the East Coast Expressway 1 and East Coast Expressway 2, traffic was reported to be smooth-flowing.
