KUALA LUMPUR – Traffic flow on all major expressways remains smooth and under control as of noon today but expected to increase later this afternoon.
This was due to the city dwellers who would start travelling for the holidays in their hometowns in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration this weekend.
A PLUS Malaysia Berhad spokesman said the traffic on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) was smooth while a Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesman when contacted by Bernama said the traffic flow at the East Coast Expressway, was smooth moving in both directions.
“The traffic flow is expected to be congested on Thursday evening due to school holidays and more people will start leaving for their hometown by then,” he said.
The public can get the latest traffic information via the Plusline toll-free number at 1800-88-0000, and Twitter account at www.twitter.com/plustrafik, or LLM at number 1800-88-7752, and Twitter account at www.twitter.com/llminfotrafik. – BERNAMA
