KUALA LUMPUR – Traffic flow on several major highways in the country was reported to be slow moving since 5 pm with the increase in the number of vehicles.
A spokesman of the Plus Expressways Bhd traffic control centre said traffic on both the north- and south-bound stretches of the North-South Expressway was building up and becoming congested.
“Traffic is still slow moving from Sungai Petani Utara to Sungai Petani Selatan at the Jitra Utara Toll Plaza heading to Jitra Selatan and after the Juru Toll Plaza to Jawi,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Meanwhile, A spokesman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said traffic flow along the Kuala Lumpur – Karak Expressway was also reported slow moving from Karak to Genting Sempah.
He said the traffic along the East Coast Expressway (LPT) was also reported to be congested before and after the Gombak Toll Plaza.
“At LPT 2, traffic is slow moving before entering the Kuala Terengganu Toll Plaza, Bentong, and before leaving the Gombak Toll Plaza to Kuala Lumpur.
“However, the situation is still under control,” he added.
