KUALA LUMPUR – Traffic bound east was reportedly moving slowly from the Gombak toll plaza this afternoon as people started returning to their hometowns and villages for the Aidilfitri next week, according to a spokesman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA).
He also said that traffic was moving slowly from Permatang Pauh towards Perai in Penang.
Meanwhile, traffic was reported to be flowing smoothly on the North-South Expressway except north-bound after the Menora Tunnel in Perak and between Sedenak and Simpang Renggam in Johor, according to a spokesman of the Traffic Control Centre at Plus Expressways Bhd.
Traffic was reportedly moving slowly from the Menora Tunnel to Hentian Sungai Perak because the smoke from bush fires at Km256.7 caused poor visibility on that stretch, he said.
“Traffic was moving slowly between Sedenak and Simpang Renggam due to an accident at Km54.1,” he said.
