Trader’s Murder Case Postponed To March 22

KEMAMAN – The Sessions Court here today postponed the case of a trader who was charged with killing and injuring two men in Kampung Labohan, Kerteh to March 22.

Judge Rofiah Mohamad set the date for mention after allowing an application by deputy public prosecutor Asyraf Minhad to complete all documents before the case is transferred to the High Court.

On Dec 27, Mohamad Zulkifli Ismail, 50, was charged with the murder of Zulkefle Abdullah, 38, at an unnumbered house in Kampung Labohan, Kerteh, here at 10.30 am on Dec 7.

The accused who has three children was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

There was no plea recorded for the charge.

Meanwhile for the second charge, Mohamad Zulkifli pleaded not guilty for causing grievous hurt to Faizul Awang, 31, with a machete at the same place and time.

For the offence, he was charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum of 20 years jail and fine or caning.

Zulkifli was represented by counsel Ariff Azami Hussein and Azizul Shariman Mat Yusoff.

The case of Zulkifli went viral on social media when he was said to have committed the offences when the victims were trying to rob him in his house. – BERNAMA
