Miss Nigeria, Mafo Victoria Waniko, has had a whirlwind time in Malaysia.
Standing at a statuesque 5’9″ (sans heels), the African beauty towers over her competitors, but it’s her cheery personality that makes her to be one of the most approachable out of the 58 hopefuls.
In between posing for selfies with Miss Uganda, on the Petronas Twin Tower’s Skybridge, the ebony-skinned model said she enjoyed the multicultural culinary delights the country has to offer.
“I love som tam (green papaya salad) and nasi lemak. The spicy-sweet sambal suits my tastebuds perfectly.”
Waniko also took a particular liking to the traditional Malay kuih of tepung pelita, a a two-layered kuih with steamed glutinous rice forming the bottom half and a green custard layer made with pandan juice, drenched in a thin sugar syrup.
“It’s sweet and creamy all in one. It’s my favourite so far.”
