SERDANG: Police today discovered a body of a baby boy at oil palm plantation in Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor, within the same vicinity where his mother’s body was found on Monday.
Selangor police chief Datuk Abu Samah Mat said the discovery was made following the arrest of a man, believed to be the woman’s boyfriend, yesterday.
“Police had detained the suspect in his 30s at his house after the discovery of the woman’s body.
“Today, police discovered the newborn’s body nearby the first ‘grave’,” he said.
On Monday, police discovered the body of the 39-year-old woman, covered in ‘telekung’ (scarf), at an oil palm plantation in Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor at about 6.45pm after the victim’s nephew alerted the cops.
A friend had told the nephew that his aunty had died and buried in the plantation, which prompted him to examine the place before discovering the body which was buried in a one-metre deep grave.
Abu Samah said the bodies had been sent to the Sungai Buloh hospital for post-mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 314 of the Penal Code for concealing a birth.-NST
