KUALA LUMPUR – Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) today confirmed that a social media posting on a ‘Feedback on Locked Houses’ notice from Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is an actual notice from the utility company and not a ruse for robbers to enter homes.
TNB’s Distribution Division senior general manager (Customer Service) Ir Kamaliah Abdul Kadir said the notice was issued by the Kuala Lumpur TNB metering unit as part of a normal procedure.
“It is issued when employees cannot access the meter as the consumer’s premises is inaccessible due to locked gates or other barriers,” she said in a statement, here today.
According to Kamaliah, TNB had denied the same posting when it was first transmitted last year.
Consumers are advised not to share the online posting because it could affect the TNB employee whose name is listed on the notice.
Consumers are also urged to contact TNB customer service at 1300885454 or the nearest TNB office should they come across any suspicious notice. – BERNAMA
