KUALA LUMPUR – Tenaga Nasional Berhad has built concrete flood barriers and upgraded infrastructure in areas at risk of floods in the east coast.
TNB senior general manager (corporate affairs and communication) Datuk Ir Mohd Aminuddin Amin said the company had built a 1.5-metre high concrete flood barrier and a 1.2-metre high flood gate at several of its main intake substations in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang.
“We have also built high-voltage line towers on 7.5-metre high concrete and stone walls to strengthen river banks where the towers are located close to rivers,” he said.
He also said that additional mobile generators and boats had been made available should severe floods occur just like last year. – BERNAMA
