KUALA LUMPUR – Three passengers suffered minor injuries when a Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) Komuter train collided with an Electric Train Service (ETS) train near the Batang Kali commuter station, today.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul said in the 1pm incident, a 13-coach commuter train from Butterworth was heading to Kuala Lumpur and an ETS train with six coaches en route from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh, were carrying 510 passengers when the mishap occurred.
“One of the trains was supposed to stop to give way to another train.
“This led to three passengers suffering minor injuries. They were taken to the hospital for further treatment,” he said.
Sani added that the department received a distress call at 1.48pm and arrived 20 minutes later. Eight firefighters from Kuala Kubu Bharu and Puchong were rushed to the scene. – The Sun
