TAIPING – Visitors to Taiping will soon not only get to view three new murals in addition to the current ones which depict its history and natural beauty.
A project of the North Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), the new murals which will be completed at the latest by next year, will add to the tourist attractions in the heritage town.
NCIA Chief Executive, Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak said the murals would be drawn at three places, namely the Pavilion in Taiping Zoo, the Kwantung Building in Jalan Kota as well as in Jalan Alang Ahmad.
“The murals will be drawn as soon as we get the cooperation of the Taiping Municipal Council (MPT),” he told reporters after a handing over ceremony of the second mural to the council at the Taiping Municipal Gallery here today.
Meanwhile, MPT president Datuk Abdul Rahim Md Ariff said Taiping had several other murals, including that of a rhino at the Pavilion of the Taiping Zoo and Night Safari, a window and a boy in Jalan Alang Ahmad, postmen in Jalan Manecksha and cendol at the Taiping Hawker Centre. – BERNAMA
