KOTA TINGGI – Three old bombs were found at the Md Long jetty in Tanjung Belungkor near here yesterday, according to police.
District Police chief Supt Rahmat Othman said passers-by saw what looked a bomb in the area and the jetty supervisor lodged a police report at 10am.
“A police team from the Adela Police Station led by Sgt Razali Sabtu then found all three bombs,” he told reporters here today.
Rahmat said two of the bombs were artillery shells weighing about 20kg and the third a mortar bomb weighing about 1.2kg, which were found 25 metres from the jetty.
He said the bombs were removed and detonated at 5.45pm yesterday by the Johor Police Bomb Disposal Unit. – BERNAMA
