LENGGONG: Fatin Iqmal Idziyani Che Aziz, one of three Malaysian students who perished in a road accident in Jordan on Saturday was laid to rest early Thursday.
Her remains arrived at Kampung Banggol Batu here around midnight and prayed over at Masjid Ehsaniah before being buried at the Muslim cemetery at Lubuk Kawah at 1.05 am.
About 200 villagers including Lenggong Member of Parliament Datuk Shamsul Anuar Nasarah were on hand to receive the remains and offer prayers.
Fatin Iqmal Idziyani’s mother, Rapidah Mat Rani when met expressed her gratitude to the Malaysian Embassy in Jordan and Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council for helping to arrange the return and funeral of her eldest child’s remains.
The late student’s father, Che Aziz Che Mahmood, 49, who had not seen his daughter for 10 years after divorcing from her mother accepted her passing as God’s will.
Her grandmother, Timah Hussin, 80, who had looked after her until she was in Standard Six also accepted her grandaughter’s fate as God’s will.
Meanwhile, Fatin Iqmal Idziyani’s uncle, Aidil Mat Rani 41, said his niece returned to Lenggong in October last year for a holiday and to see her grandmother and other family members.
Fatin Iqmal Idziyani’s remains, together with those of Al Najiatun Nailah Mohd Safie and Hana’ Azhar arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 4.25 pm on Wednesday on Royal Jordanian flight RJ185.
Al Najiatun Nailah was laid to rest at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Sungai Pinang, Tumpat while Hana’, at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Kampung Tok Bok, Machang.
The three who were third year students at Mu’tah University, Jordan perished in a road accident at Ashrafiyeh, Mafraq while on the way to attend a religious programme.
