THE Spice Girls are reforming to celebrate their 20 year anniversary!
Excited? Sure you are!
The world’s biggest girl group will celebrate 20 years since the release of their first single Wannabe next year and reportedly plan to mark the occasion with a global concert series.
However, singer turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham might not be joining Emma Bunton, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Mel B on stage.
Mel B and Victoria both teased fans by posting throwback Spice Girls pictures on their social media accounts today, with Victoria sharing a picture of the official Spice Girls photo album.
“There is a huge demand for the Spice Girls to get back together, especially with the nostalgia around the two-decade anniversary of their first release next summer.
“Mel B flew into London last month to secretly agree the plan with the other three girls. They should each make more than ten million pounds from this,” a source added to The Sun.
Victoria – who took part in the group’s 2007-2008 reunion tour and their appearance at the London Olympics closing ceremony three years ago – still has the option to take part but reportedly insists she is too busy.
Initially the group were reluctant to commit to anything without the 40-year-old star, but realised time was running out for a reunion if they didn’t agree it soon.
The insider continued: “For a long time they put off the idea of working any projects without her because they wanted to stay as a five-piece, but with the 20th anniversary coming up they realised it was a case of now or never.”
The quartet are expected to begin negotiations with tour promoters and choose their new management team in the coming weeks.
The band are expected to be in total control of the tour despite their busy schedules.
It comes after Mel B said “it’s about time” the girls got back together during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show earlier this week.
“I want us to get back together, I think we should. It’s been 20 years, it’s about time.”
Scary Spice also revealed that her daughter has been pushing for a reunion.
“She’s been like the champion of this,†Mel admitted. “Like ‘Mum, you girls have to do Coachella.’†– Mirror
