MELAKA: Thailand’s Crown Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn today went on a half-day tour to Melaka.
Her arrival with 100 delegates including students and lecturers from Thailand was welcomed by the state secretary Datuk Naim Abu Bakar at the Melaka International Airport (LTAM) Batu Berendam, here.
The delegation visited Stadthuys Building accompanied by Historic Study and Patriotism Institute chairman Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Jamil Mukmin.
The princess and her delegation who also included Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia Damrong Kraikruan later climbed up the St Paul Hill and were briefed on the history of Melaka.
They also visited Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum and Porte de Santiago site, to get to know more about the history of the Melaka Malay sultanate.
The tour left for Penang from LTAM at 1.30pm.– BERNAMA
