MECCA – All Tabung Haji (TH) hostels in Mecca are now ready to receive Malaysian haj pilgrims with the first batch of 450 pilgrims scheduled to arrive in stages beginning 2pm today (7pm Malaysian time).
Mecca-based TH hostels coordinator Tahar Pilus said the first batch of the Malaysian pilgrims left Medina by bus at 6am today, and would be staying at Hostel 83 in the Abraj Al-Janadriah building.
“The sites alloted for Malaysian pilgrims in Mecca are divided into three zones namely Zone A, B and C.
“The Abraj Al Janadriah, Qasr Al Janadriyah and Masaat Al Badae buildings are located in the Zone A or Shuib Amir zone while Zone B, namely Hafaeâ€™er accomodates Rehab Janadriyah and Al Bisyarah Mawaddah buildings.
“The Misfalah or Zone C comprised of Lab Premium, Al Wafideen, Manar Al Shorouq and Roudhat Al Shorouq buildings,” he told reporters here today.
He said of the three zones, Tabung Haji had set up seven hostels with six for the Muassasah (package) and one for the private package.
“Each hostel provides a wide range of facilities including clinics, customer service counters, worship guidance counters, money withdrawal counters, laundry and telephone services.
“Apart from the cafeteria, the pilgrims will also be supplied meals for lunch as well as dinner and there will be between four and seven pilgrims per room (depending on the size of the rooms),” he said.
There are 22,320 Malaysian pilgrims this year who would be flown in 64 flights using Malaysia Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines aircraft. – BERNAMA
