KUALA TERENGGANU: A three-tonne lorry belonging to the Terengganu government carrying about RM300,000 in costumes and musical instruments and equipment has been stolen.
State Secretary Datuk Wan Nawawi Wan Ismail said Monday the lorry left Kuala Terengganu for Kuala Lumpur on Saturday evening and reached the hotel where the crew and performers were staying in the city just before midnight.
The driver parked the lorry near the hotel and found it missing when he came down to check on it.
As soon as the driver found the lorry missing, he informed the head of the group, who then checked with City Hall if it had been towed.
When City Hall told them that no such lorry had been towed, a police report was lodged at the Dang Wangi police station at about 8am.
It is learned that the lorry was carrying the costumes, musical instruments and amplifiers for an event which is supposed to take place tonight.
