KUALA LUMPUR – Free treatment facilities at a temporary hospital operated by the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Specialist Medical Centre is among the services provided to delegates and visitors to the UMNO General Assembly 2015 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here.
The medical centre’s Emergency Medicine specialist Dr Izzat Ismail said among the treatments provided were treatment for breathing difficulties and traumatic injuries such as falling and fainting.
He said as a precautionary measure, the treatment unit personnel were also being stationed at several locations in each level of the PWTC building.
“Generally we divide into three teams, namely to treat dignitaries, members of the public and patients of the (temporary) hospital itself,” he told Bernama.
The UiTM temporary hospital has 10 doctors, 35 nurses and paramedics and is being assisted by 25 Civil Defence Department personnel.
Some 20 beds, namely 10 for male patients and 10 beds for female patients are being provided in the temporary hospital.
Dr Izzat also gave his assurance that the temporary hospital would have a sufficient medical supply throughout the five days of the general assembly.
“If there is a shortage, the Kuala Lumpur Hospital will send additional medicines,” he said.
Visitors with health problems can get treatment at the temporary hospital on Level 4 of the PWTC which opens from 7am until 11pm. – BERNAMA
