KOTA KINABALU – A teenage girl was killed in an accident involving three vehicles at Jalan Tuaran Bypass, near here yesterday evening.
Kota Kinabalu City Police chief ACP M. Chandra said the victim, Nabila Jimos, 16, died at the scene from head injuries after she was flung out of one of the vehicles at the Kampung Kalansanan U roundabout in the 5 pm incident.
“Five other teenage girls who were also riding in the car and the driver escaped unhurt. The driver of another car sustained minor injuries during the collision,” he said in a statement here today.
“Initial investigations revealed that a third vehicle driven by a 50-year-old man coming from the opposition direction then rammed into one of the two vehicles,” he said.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and the public with any information on the accident are asked to contact the traffic investigating officer Insp Chong Chee Wah at line 016-3032030. – BERNAMA
