MUAR – A young woman was today charged at the Magistrate’s Court here with killing her husband in Sungai Abong.
The 17-year-old juvenile, who was working as a stall assistant, nodded her head after the charge was read before Magistrate Amilana Basirah Md Top even though her plea was not recorded.
The teenager was accused of murdering her husband, Mohd Firdaus Md Sallehuddin, 28, on Oct 14, 2017 in a house at No.130A, Jalan Indah, Taman Permata Indah, Sungai Abong at about 1.30pm.
She was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Shukri Hussain while the accused was not represented.
Amilana Basirah set Nov 23, 2017 for re-mention while awaiting for the pyschiatric report.
The court ordered the teenager to undergo a mental examination at the Permai Hospital in Johor Bahru. – BERNAMA
